TOGETHER: HAND IN HAND

As Vista International School forges ahead making its indelible print in the educational landscape, it credits its patrons- the parents for sharing the vision and mission and extending their continual support. Vista strongly believes in the collective effort that is a requisite for the academic, emotional and social upbringing of a child. A strong parent-teacher partnership builds trust, fosters communication, and creates a supportive environment that empowers children to reach their full potential.

With this virtue as the banner, our school has chartered some commendable initiatives to make a difference. Communication forms the cornerstone of a successful partnership. We maintain regular contact with our partners through diary notes, emails, phone calls, school app and in-person meetings providing regular insights into a child’s learning and suggesting strategies for support at home. This proactive form builds trust and prevents misunderstanding.

The support strategies include reinforcing concepts, aiding in homework, encourage reading and participation in various competitions that align with developing a curious mindset and cultivate problem solving techniques but most important of all- create a learning friendly environment at home. Some activities in the school are designed to engage the parents as well along with the children. This strengthens their bond and helps in understanding each other. The PTA meetings provide the platform to voice concerns or share ideas promoting a sense of belonging and sharing responsibilities.

The school works together with the parent to put up a strong united front to help the child navigate through friendships, peer pressure, stress, anxiety, bullying or any other issue. Sharing observations about behavioral changes or emotional struggles, empathizing, counselling, reinforcing their values and guiding them with love helps them feel safe and grow confident.

The most innovative strategy initiated this year was the PTC goal setting. When parent, teacher and child align the goals – whether academic, behavioral, or developmental; the scope for a contended and happier child increases. With collective monitoring and check-ins, rectifications in strategies employed can be done. Targets can be achieved and achievements celebrated. Thus, a roadmap for success is formed.

By communicating, reinforcing, participating, supporting, and setting shared goals, we build a strong foundation for every child. Together when teachers and parents walk hand in hand, students bloom and soar. It’s not just beneficial – but transformative.
